Dr. Asma Jappar
Dr. Asma Jappar is a dedicated and compassionate podiatrist practicing at Thomas Podiatry. She will be serving patients at our Salisbury office, bringing her expertise in foot and ankle care.
Dr. Jappar is Podiatric Board Qualified and a proud member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned her medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Jappar further honed her skills during her residency at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Choosing the field of podiatry allowed Dr. Jappar to meet patients’ needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment, helping them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. She finds immense reward in seeing patients avoid amputations and walk pain-free.
Dr. Jappar enjoys managing podiatric deformities using both surgical and non-surgical techniques. She values playing an early role in preventing and diagnosing lower extremity amputations caused by biomechanical imbalances, especially in diabetic patients.
Originally from Silver Spring, MD, Dr. Jappar now resides in Salisbury, MD. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, biking, swimming, and gardening. A fun fact about Dr. Jappar is that she was born and raised in Sri Lanka, where the total contact cast was first introduced to treat patients with leprosy.
